PRESS RELEASE: SMEs to save hundreds of millions of rands with Vodacom One Net Express

Vodacom today announced the launch of One Net Express, a mobile technology based communication solution that has the potential to save small and medium enterprises (SMEs) hundreds of millions of rands.

One Net Express, which provides big business switchboard benefits to small businesses, is already in use by over two million Vodafone subscribers across the UK and Europe. Together these customers have realised savings of over £1 billion (approximately R15 billion) in just one year.

Vuyani Jarana, the head of Vodacom’s enterprise unit, Vodacom Business said, “There’s no doubt that SMEs are the growth engine for our economy but often the pressures and costs associated with doing business can stifle their development. With this in mind, now is an ideal time for us to launch a product that uses mobile technology to provide tangible cost savings.”

“One Net Express is a Vodafone solution that has been tried, tested and shown to deliver real benefits to users. We expect to see similar results locally,” said Jarana.

The product, which is available for under R200 per month, is specifically designed for companies employing up to 100 employees. It gives businesses traditional switchboard or PBX features on their cellphone. On top of this, One Net Express includes a host of call management functions, such as hunt groups and auto attendant, which means these businesses never have to miss a call again. Businesses will also have the option to either port in or request a landline telephone number for their business. This number will be accessible to their cellphone with no divert fees.

Easy to activate, One Net Express not only makes businesses accessible, but in the UK customers have benefited from an average of 20% saving on their internal calls.

“Customers using One Net Express win on two fronts. They benefit from reduced call costs and from being able to respond to calls faster by directing customers to the right person. It’s no wonder that One Net Express users have grown their revenues following the introducing of the solution to their business,” added Jarana.

Jackie Fisher, the director of Power Office Services, had this to say about One Net Express "Our revenues are up 10% on last year, despite the recession – that’s largely attributable to Vodafone One Net.”

Another user, Chris Goss, from CCBS said, “We’re now truly available 24/7 to everybody - to any customer, whether they’re an existing customer or a potential customer.”

Key features of One Net Express:

· Auto attendant, which acts like a virtual receptionist, lets customers select a relevant department or person they would like to speak to for their enquiry.

· Hunt groups intelligently route calls to employees, so the first available user can take the call.

· Each Vodacom One Net Express user receives 500 free minutes each month to call other One Net Express users within the business.

· The ability to add an existing landline telephone number to the One Net Express service. Alternatively, Vodacom can provide businesses with a landline telephone number by using a 3G desk phone that works with a SIM card.

· The ability to instantly connect up to five devices to a 3G desk phone, which has a built-in WIFI router, for an all in one communications solution.

· Desk phones, mobiles and voicemail are all connected - even across different offices.

Notes to the editor

What is Vodacom One Net Express?
Vodacom One Net Express is a Value Added Service (VAS) activated on a customer’s prevailing price plan. The solution provides a customer with traditional switchboard functionality on cellphones, and 3G desk phones should the customer require a geographic telephone number, all hosted in the cloud.

Geographic Number Porting / Geographic Number Allocation
With Geographic Number Allocation and Geographic Number Porting, Vodacom can provide SMEs with a 3G desk phone and landline telephone number that works with a SIM card. The 3G desk phone also acts as a WIFI hotspot, providing the customer with an all-in-one solution for their communication needs.

If a customer opts to take a landline telephone number, they are required to take a geographic price plan, which includes a 3G desk phone. The two price plans are One Net Express Plus Small and One Net Express Plus Medium.

What does it cost?
All One Net Express tariffs and fees are billed directly to the business owner.

Features:
Auto Attendant
With Auto Attendant customers calling into a business are provided with a menu of options to select the department that they would like to be transferred to. Using text- to- speech allows the company to record a welcome message to greet the caller before presenting the options to the customer for how they would like their call to be routed. This ensures that the customer reaches the right department or employee that they would like to speak to.

Hunt Groups

With Hunt Groups the SME can set up the phone number to ring on multiple phones, mobile and 3G desk phone, at once or set it up to ring in a fixed order from one person to the next until an available employee answers the call. Alternatively a circular ring set up will equally share the call load amongst the team. This service ensures that somebody in the business is always able to take the call, regardless of where they are.
