PRESS RELEASE: Resolutions of Multi-Party Forum
The senior leaders of twelve political parties; ACDP, Agang, AL JAMA-AH, Azapo, Cope, DA, FF+, IFP, NPF, PAC, UCDP and the UDM, met yesterday to discuss a number of burning issues in the approach to the 2014 National and Provincial Elections.
A steering committee shall be formed to drive the parties’ agenda and each political party will nominate their representative to serve on this committee.
One of the steering committee’s first tasks is to meet with Icasa, the IEC and the SABC to discuss their roles in ensuring free and fair elections in 2014.
The leaders of political parties had visited Marikana after the tragic death of the protesting mineworkers in August 2012 and they will grace the commemoration of the Marikana Tragedy on 16 August 2013.
